Fate and the Pisces Stellium
March 25, 2008 by juliedemboski
Through March 30th we’ll see in the sky a fairly tight stellium in Pisces of Uranus, Mercury, Venus, and Vesta, with Chiron semi-sextile and Jupiter sextile these. For most people this is likely to go by almost unnoticed, at least consciously; these energies come together and work a sleight-of-hand trick on the psyche, misdirecting our attention and fueling an idea that the action is ‘anywhere but here.’ Many astrologers are couching this effect in terms of typical Uranian chaos, accident, and mayhem, but that’s not what it looks like to me; I see a moderate but continual level of anxiety, with a small chaser of fear, that will overtake our mental processes and leak into relationship dynamics, financial matters (as nothing can make us feel more vulnerable than seeing money in emotional terms), the home front, the sex life, and virtually all communications. We are worried, we sense that we may at any moment be hurt, and, though we suspect that our own perceptions may be exaggerated, the social arena seems to be reflecting back to us with unusual precision the very same reality that we are experiencing in our minds; the lack of discrepancy between inner and outer is unusual, and that alone should make us stop and ‘prick up our ears.’ We must understand that this isn’t a dynamic of action, but of perception and sensation, and as such doesn’t require us to react, though our lizard brains (that primeval, survival-oriented part of us) will surely prompt over-reaction, knee-jerk responses that will create the feared chaos–but only if we give in to them.
Stellium ruler Neptune is conjunct the North Node in Aquarius, lending an air of fatedness, and perhaps an intellectually-based sense of resignation to our perceptions; we may feel we can’t help what we see around us. Now we reach the most important thing to remain aware of: this is not the time to make pronouncements or judgments based on what is essentially an emotional (and therefore changeable) perceptual picture. We know this situation will be seen through an emotional lens because of Pisces, which imbues those energies resident there with a sensation of being part of the primordial soup, lacking language or any way to shape concepts and separate them from the ‘All That Is.’ This can be both frightening and overwhelming, kicking us into panic mode without ever seeing any real danger on the horizon. As long as we know that this is the case, we can deal with it, through the mechanism of Pisces/ Neptune in our natal charts.
If you vibe strongly to Pisces, or Neptune is prominent, especially if either is connected to identity significators (Sun, Moon, ASC, or Venus for women, Mars for men) the current Pisces dynamic can seem very personal–you may feel that deep and intense things are happening only to you–and this is something you may deal with on a regular basis, only now it’s exaggerated: the feeling is that extraordinarily significant things are happening, which you must decode and fathom. Know instead that this is like a wave, catching up everyone as it rolls toward shore–just allow it to wash over you, to tumble you a bit, but don’t try to stop the wave in its tracks or pin down its meaning–it just is, and it’s happening to all of us, and because of this we may want to emphasize that this is a shared perceptual experience, and as such will disorient all of us in a similar fashion.
The most effective way to deal with this is probably to simply allow that Cosmic wave to not just wash over you, but through you. This is a fear-inducing thought for many, especially those of us wedded to Saturn/ Capricorn or Virgo, but letting, even welcoming, an influx of Universal energy and creative psychic ‘juice,’ and releasing our boundaries long enough to allow what feels like chaos but is really the infinitely organized intelligence of the life force to surge through us and heal, rejuevenate, and expand our consciousness, is the only way to play it. The Universe is offering us an energy gift–let’s be ‘together’ enough to accept it.
I hardly know how to comment on all that has been written lately.
Still processing the information in …Titans, Juno…,and No April Fools…
I do know that when the moon entered Scorpio I began to feel clearly
again. If I read my natal chart correctly I have a 1st house Neptune.
This is a nice dream right now. Music sounds better, people are dearer,
losses seem to be washing away. Still lost, but calmly floating off.
A Pisces stellium, if that is where this peace is coming from, is welcome.
I clicked without saying thank you.
Thanks. I appreciate the work you put into writing…
You’re welcome, Randall. Glad to hear you’re enjoying a peaceful interlude–I think we could all use one! If a Scorpio Moon makes you feel clearly, then you may be a ‘Pluto responder,’ and this may directly conflict with that 1st House Neptune–the conflict may keep you from accessing that floating ease all the time (as it’s typically available with a 1st House placement). Just a thought–thanks for your participation!
It may be too, that the week leading up to the full moon was exceptionally heavy for me.
Tons of “out in the public” work last Thursday and Friday–not my favorite activity.
Then strange currents in communications, connections, etc. until Monday morning.
Could you share a bit more regarding “Pluto responder”?
Thanks.
By ‘Pluto responder’ I mean someone highly attuned to Plutonian energy–and this may short circuit or get in the way of energies that we might typically see as dominant within a chart, such as a 1st House Neptune. Another possibility is that the passage of the Scorpio Moon literally purged you emotionally relative to the House it was transiting.
This is very accurate to how I am feeling right now. Thank you for the soothing words. Very helpful. Its been crazy-i have sun, uranus, pluto, mercury in Virgo-Saturn transits, Pluto transits, eclipses all last year or so…phew…i am still alive!
You’re welcome, Vera. And congratulations on still being alive LOL! I think you might get some near-term relief when the swifter moving planets (Sun, Mercury, Venus) move into Taurus–hang on ’til then!
really enjoyed your writings
i have studied astrology for years
i am interested to know how a cap-sun/cap asc with venus in the second will fare with the Pluto transit of late
also i wanted advice on my mars in the 7th right now
rough ride lately
Hello Donna,
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy the blog.
What you mention is off-topic here as it doesn’t relate to the Pisces stellium or other involved bodies–and though I have recently done a post on Venus in the 2nd you don’t include information necessary for me to comment. You may benefit from a consulation with a professional astrologer, as the blog comment section isn’t adequate to address your concerns. I can offer that you should expect tremendous change in the personality, as well as in how others receive you, as Pluto hits the ASC, and then change within the Soul’s expression and personal identity as it moves across the Sun–look too to the matters of the House with Leo on the cusp to undergo big change as Pluto connects with your Sun.
Good luck, Donna
I appreciate the thought you put into this too. Some of it really gives me the only unique perspective I’m able to access to deal with these influences. I’ve even been quoting you!
“the current Pisces dynamic can seem very personal–you may feel that deep and intense things are happening only to you–and this is something you may deal with on a regular basis, only now it’s exaggerated: the feeling is that extraordinarily significant things are happening, which you must decode and fathom.”
Neptune opposite my Moon and square my Venus. Yes, I feel very much this way.
Thank you, Jessica. I can see, with Nep opp Moon and square Venus how this post must describe familiar territory for you. My thought is that the House ruled by Neptune may offer perspective and some relief when emotions feel overwhelmed–a place to ‘retreat,’ in a way–and that relationships could be either a source of balance and grounding when the emotions seem imbalanced, or that that’s when conflicts come up within your relationships, at the very moment you need the perspective others might offer! The state of Venus would likely describe which–
Hope this helps–
Hmm, both seem to apply. House ruled by Neptune… would that be the house that has Pisces on its cusp? That’s my 10th and if so, then it’s true that my career is the only place where I find distraction from these emotions, and even then, I’m doing a poor job of it. Second, I think it is the case that when I need perspective from others, is the precise time when my relationships become unavailable to me. This gives me the sense that I’ve been deserted, and as a Sun Libra I do hate going through challenges without bouncing every decision off someone else first. Venus in Virgo in 4th. Though I have a strong Neptune, I’ve got no Pisces and my Sun/Mars/Uranus gets very impatient and angry about feeling victimized.
Yes, Neptune rules Pisces–and with the scenario you describe I would further look to Houses ruled by Mars and Uranus for outlets that help the Libra Sun feel more steady on its (lonesome) feet.
Aha! Mars rules my 11th and my main support has been coming from friends, while the problems stem from romantic partnerships. As for 8th house outlets (ruled by Uranus)… hmm.
