I completely agree about abolishing the pseudo-holiday! Such a collection of guilt and needlessly raised (and dashed) expectations does not deserve to share space with the celebration of motherhood. I'm a mom too, and I even received some nice attention, but I'd do away with it in a heartbeat. Interestingly, I've only felt this way *since* I became a mom.

My NN and Sun are in 5th, and I received art supplies as an unexpected gift. Furthermore, before I received this gift, my sister and I had a discussion about how my mother pigeonholed me as the smart one and her as the creative/artistic one. And then later on this day, I *was* reminded of my native talents. Amazing!
